Arauco IG
Arauco is on the list because the INV recognised most La Rioja departments as IGs in 2002. Wine isn't what it's known for. Aimogasta is one of the province's main olive centres, and the town has an olive tree said to be more than 400 years old, declared a national historic monument in 1980. Argentina's own table olive variety is called Arauco.
I don't know of a wine made here. If a bottle turns up with this IG on the label, I'll treat it as a rarity and note where the grapes were grown.
