Castro Barros IG
The department had 257 hectares in 2024, which is 3.6% of the province, but only 15 vineyards, so the average vineyard is 17.1 hectares. That's the largest in La Rioja. Most of the vines are recent. About 86 hectares went in during the 1990s, 98 in the 2000s and 63 in the 2010s. It has three registered wineries and made about 5% of the province's wine in 2024.
Bodegas San Huberto is the name tied to it. It lists its address as Anillaco (Ciudad de Aminga), and the winery exports to Australia, the Netherlands and the UK.
I'd look for Malbec and Cabernet here and check whether the label names Aminga.
