Colón IG
Colón is where Córdoba wine happens. It has 56 of the province's 108 vineyards, though each averages only 1.9 hectares. In the INV's 2026 provisional figures it supplied 79.8% of the province's grapes, and in 2025 it made 78.5% of the wine.
The area has shrunk, from 153.8 hectares in 2016 to 104.2 in 2025. Its vines are the oldest in the province. Plantings go back to the 1920s, with 16.7 hectares from the 1960s and 33.7 from the 2000s. The INV's variety table has Isabella at 25.6 hectares, Pinot Noir at 20.3, Merlot at 16.7, Malbec at 12.4 and Ancellotta at 10.1.
The detail is in the Colonia Caroya entry. I'd treat Colón wines as small-production regional bottles and look first at the Isabella and the Merlot.
