Cuyo IG
Cuyo is the broadest IG name those three provinces share. Between them Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis hold about 179,500 hectares of vines, roughly 91% of the country's total at the end of 2025.
Under the INV's rule for IGs (Resolution C.22/2004), both the winery and the vineyards behind the grapes need the registered right to use the name, and mixing wines from different IGs loses the right to name them on the product. A bottle that says Cuyo with no valley or district name tells me the grapes came from somewhere in those three provinces and little else.
