El Paraíso IG

El Paraíso is thin on public detail, and I'd rather say so than pad it. The INV recognised it in 2007 under Resolution C.28/2007 and it sits inside Maipú. It isn't one of the department's twelve administrative districts, so I haven't been able to pin down its boundary.

The property I can tie to the name is Luigi Bosca's Finca El Paraíso. Leoncio Arizu bought it in 1925 and refounded it in 1926, and the French-style chalet at its centre dates to 1905. Diario Uno calls it the oldest, largest and most varied estate in the Luigi Bosca portfolio, with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and several other grapes planted.

When I see El Paraíso on a label I'll check which estate it comes from and what grape it is, because the range here is wide.
