The INV counted 754 hectares in 2024, which is 10.5% of the province and 19% more than in 2015. The department has 417 vineyards, 37% of La Rioja's total, so these are small farms. It has three registered wineries, 17 home winemakers and eight grape drying houses. One older guide counts more than 215 hectares of table grapes.

The department made 3.8% of the province's wine in 2024.

I'd treat a bottle with this IG as a find. I'd look for who made it and which vineyard the grapes came from.
