Lavalle IG
Lavalle had 12,093.9 hectares of vines in 2025, down from 13,485 in 2018. It holds about 90% of the vines in the northern area. In 2018 the INV counted 1,269 vineyards averaging 11 hectares, and 15 wineries that made wine that year.
The INV says the northern soils are mostly shallow and a little saline, so growers drain and wash them to keep the salt down. The climate is warm temperate with about 200 frost-free days. It's old vineyard country too. In 2018 about 45% of the northern area's wine-grape vines were over 25 years old, and 83% of its pink grapes.
I couldn't tie a named producer to the IG, so I'm not going to name one. A Lavalle Bonarda or Syrah is where I'd start.
