Molinos IG
Molinos has 133 hectares in the 2025 INV count, a small area for a department with such a famous winery. Colomé is the reason. Its home vineyard, Finca Colomé, covers 72 hectares at about 2,300 metres on alluvial sandy loam around the winery.
Tacuil is the other name. The Dávalos family runs the winery and vineyard southwest of Molinos at roughly 2,600 metres, now in its sixth generation under Raúl Dávalos. With Paula Marra he also makes the Valle Arriba wines, about 40,000 bottles a year from seven vineyards.
At these heights I'd look for Malbec where the fruit comes through the tannin.
