Valles Templados IG

This is a temperate continental climate. Rainfall is 700 to 1,200 millimetres a year, most of it from September to February, and daily temperatures run from 18 to 32°C. Soils are loam, sandy loam and clay loam with river cobbles in places, and the water comes through canals from the La Ciénaga and Las Maderas dams. Harvest is early, in January and February, with low frost risk and some hail risk.

Marselán, Pinot Noir and Viognier are being trialled. Producers named in the press include Machuca, Molle and La Magdalena.

It's a brand new IG, so I'd look at how the wines handle the cloudy, damp weather around ripening.
