Villa Ventana IG

Villa Ventana is the oldest of Buenos Aires province's four IGs. The INV recognised it in 2011 (Res. C.46/2011) on the application of Reserva Natural Cerro Colorado S.A., after its technical areas found land with distinctive qualities for quality wine.

The INV publishes no figures for the IG itself. For the two partidos it overlaps, the 2024 count was 12.09 hectares in Tornquist and 19.47 in Coronel Suárez, two vineyards each and nearly all planted between 2000 and 2009. The IG covers only part of each partido, so the real vine area is smaller. A regional guide credits the Ventania hills, the gentle slopes and the Atlantic winds with creating small microclimates for vines.
