Inedito Chapter 1 Malbec 2017

98

Sample provided by the producer

The 2017 Corazon del Sol Inedito Chapter 1 Malbec from the Uco Valley is an extraordinary single-barrel bottling, with just 25 cases produced, and aged entirely in neutral oak. It glows with a medium purple center framed by a vibrant neon-red rim. The nose is captivating, weaving together marionberry, ripe black plum, and crushed graphite with accents of nori, cracked pepper, and dried violet petals. On the palate, waves of dark fruit and floral spice are lifted by undertones of purple blossoms and mineral depth, creating both elegance and intensity. Even at eight years old, the tannins retain vigor, offering structure to balance its plush texture. Perfectly judged acidity gives precision, while the finish unfolds with remarkable energy and persistence. This is a profoundly expressive Malbec, delivering purity, tension, and elegance in every sip. It would pair beautifully with slow-roasted lamb seasoned with rosemary and smoked paprika, the savory flavors aligning with the wine’s depth and aromatic complexity. Only 25 cases made. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
