Fermented with 15% whole clusters, the 2022 Corazon del Sol Single Block 22 Syrah from the Uco Valley leans dry and herbal rather than sweet from the first pour. Lingonberry and rose hip lead, high-toned and taut, with tangerine peel cutting above them and allspice threading behind. Forest floor and a whiff of dried porcini sit underneath and give the wine its grounding without turning it heavy. The palate is medium-bodied with satiny tannins, and the finish is long and unforced, closing on the same cool herbal note it opened with.
