The 2018 Vino Cabos Chanares Estate Malbec sees 53% new French oak for a total of 18 months. Paul Hobbs’ Argentina winery has crafted a Malbec that is scintillating, age-worthy, and downright delicious. Inky deep purple core with a ruby rim, the fabulous bouquet of spiced boysenberry pie, blue plum, dried thyme, popcorn, brown mushroom powder, spruce forest, and cedary herbs is an absolute treat. Sweet tannins sweep across the tongue, and the precise acidity keeps things interesting. Highly recommended.
