Canota IG

Canota is young. The INV recognised it in Resolution 19/2020, signed on 5 May 2020 and published on 22 May. A 2026 iProfesional piece says only 10 to 20 hectares are planted, and that Luigi Bosca has worked with Canota grapes for about five years.

Water decides how far it can grow. The Luigi Bosca winemaker told iProfesional that availability will determine whether the area can expand. The bottle to look for is the Apuntes Petit Verdot 2021, which the article describes as showing intense black and red fruit, exotic spice and well-grained tannins.

I haven't found a published soil study for Canota, and the resolution summary gives none, so I'm leaving soils out for now.
